Risoforum: Why (Not) to Print with Riso?

Risoforum is an annual format at Indiecon, focused on Riso printing as a mode of self-publishing and running a the machines as a (small) business. It’s organised and hosted by our friends at Risofort for the third time and caters to beginners as well as fellow enthusiasts, and makers. 

This year, Risofort hosts a panel discussion within the conference at Indiecon’s main stage around the trivial and yet essential question ‘Why (not) to print with Riso?’ This will be discussed on stage with Tehran Zine, Taxonomy Press, SO-RI, Pseudo Press & Risofort.

The event aims to highlight a discourse within the Riso community that goes beyond gear talk and a purely material approach (“Riso ink is smudgy”) — looking for an authentic debate on what is (and isn’t) interesting, exciting, getting old, inspiring, sustainable within our continued practice. 

On Sunday after closing down the fair, the Risoforum will move to Risofort’s basement studio for a fair debrief and casual nerd talk for everyone invested in Riso printing.
