Idle Moments - A six-minute solo for a handbalancer

It could be a Sunday—or any day. You might call it a morning routine, or just a routine. Calming down to some music, reading something, having a coffee (or two) —but upside down. In this universe, where everything is inverted, the art of handbalancing blends with object manipulation: magazines, coffee mugs, and more—some of them even transforming.

Meret is a German circus artist specializing in handbalancing and, since 2022, the managing editor of the independent magazine The Handstand Press. In addition to working with French circus companies and touring internationally, she also writes as a freelance journalist.

More than just being on her hands all the time, Meret sometimes spends a bit too much time reading the news—and always forgets that two coffees would have been better than three.
